Not for the Skittish

It has been a week. I have felt well for the majority of the week, which is great. It makes dealing with the rest of life easier. I heard from my oncologist. I am going to see him on October 14 so we can talk about the plan. He seems to want to wait and I do not. I am confident we will come to a compromise.

Flapjack had a health scare this past week. I had blood work done on him and it turned out his calcium levels were high. So today, we re-did the blood work and the same result occurred. The vet wants to re-check in six months before we go through additional diagnostic checks.

Today was IV hydration. We have this process down and it always goes smoothly. Until today....I had finished the first liter with no problems. I had just started working on the second liter and was working away. All of a sudden a cat went running or flying through the living room and caught the IV line. If you look at the picture below, you will see my port needle. Yes, the cat ripped the needle from my chest. At this point, I had no idea of it was bleeding or not. It hurt as it came out and I began yelling for my uncle. Then yelling louder and then louder. After calling out at least a dozen times, I found my phone and called him. He came running out.

Everything turned out fine. My nurse is coming back tomorrow to re-access my port so I can complete my hydration therapy.

For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO
