One Small Step

I typically do not blog twice in a day but this was worth it.

The Emily Post in me must say thank you to the person who sent me the following shirt:

It came on a day when I needed the reminder (see earlier post). Thank you for believing in me. There was no note in the package (Amazon has been doing that a lot lately). I have been trying hard to stay on top of thank you notes so if I have not sent you one, I do apologize. Please know how thankful I am for all of the wonderful texts, notes, cards, and other things that have been sent from my warrior squad. Later this week, I will be announcing the official name of my warrior squad. I got a lot of good suggestions so it has been challenging to pick a name.

With the fatigue setting in, I have been spending most of my time working from the recliner and sometimes bed. Giving into the fact this would probably get worse before it gets better, I decided to order a table like they have the in hospitals so that my laptop does not have to balance on my lap. Although, I am getting really good at that and could get a gold metal if that was an Olympic sport. Well the table arrived August 3. No one was excited to build it but as weeks went by and I kept looking at the box, I knew it had to be built. Having built every piece of furniture in my house, I knew I was capable but could I get the motivation to do it?

Of course the answer was yes! It took me much longer than it should have, which I will partially blame on cancer but also poor instructions did not help. The important thing is that I did it. I had a helper who thought Styrofoam was a fun toy.

Once I took care of that box, I got the table built. Then I vacuumed up the packing pieces that were all over the pieces and took everything to the garbage. Once it was done, I had to take a break but here is the finished product:

It felt good to accomplish this. I also emptied the fridge, took the garbage down for trash day, and washed dishes. Now it is time for bed!

For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO

  1. As the t-shirt that I sent you said, you really can do hard things! I have seen it over and over. And the description of your day proves it!
