My uncle got on the phone with all the places in Tallahassee, some of which did not even know they were doing COVID testing (as if that is not scary enough). On Friday, I was forced to drive over Quest Labs because their automatic phone system disconnects you when you want to ask a question. Again, Mayo making me leave my house and possibly being exposed to COVID. While Quest could do the test, regardless of doctors putting a rush on the test, they would not guarantee results by Tuesday at 2 PM. They suggested I get the test on Friday or Saturday. I had to explain a few times that the test had to be done 24-48 hours before my procedure on Tuesday, apparently that math was quite challenging.
So my only option was to drive to Mayo today....
My mom and I left at 10:30 AM this morning so we would be there before they closed at 2 PM. We got there and meandered our way to the testing area. It seemed like something out of the nuclear testing zone area. Then we followed the road around to the first check point. Where she meant business about not rolling the window down. How are you supposed to hear someone through a mask and window?!?
We went around to the second check point. It could also be described like a driving course with all of the cones.
Then we went into the testing area. They kept taping things to our car because we could not roll our windows down.
The whole test from entering the test area to leaving took less then 10 minutes. It certainly did not feel well having the wire stuck up my nose and all I could think about was how much Mayo has exposed me to COVID doing this test.
So even if I had not been exposed before the COVID test, there were several opportunities afterwards to be exposed. Leaving the testing site, we had to use a restroom. Then we had to get gas. Then food. Not to mention, we were at risk for getting into an accident, which would have put us in contact with more germs.
So to recap, I could have stayed home and not been around anyone for five days but instead Mayo preferred I was out and about exposing myself to COVID. I suppose I should not expect less, they did let Pence in without a mask.
For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO

Tara....Gotta love our healthcare system.....
