Last Week

Last week was challenging. The queasiness has stayed around, which makes eating challenging but I know I need to eat to I push through.

I had to return to Mayo for two tests this week. It is probably telling when the anesthesiologist remembers you from previous procedures. So you get all the bracelets when you are klutzy like me who has fallen twice in the past year for no reason. The first procedure went great because they put me under so I slept and slept and slept. Waking up only to go home, eat dinner, and then go back to sleep.

The procedure on Wednesday.....oh, not so much. First of all, I was wide awake. This was frustrating because the doctor told me that I would not be able to drive home so I had to spend time figuring out how to get back to Tally without making mom come all the way back. She had already made this drive so many times and I wanted her to be able to go home and sleep in her bed for a week before coming back. She is turning her life upside down for me and I am so appreciative. Not that anyone minds helping but to find out I could have driven home did not please me.

The test was terrible. Apparently, my small nose is tiny on the inside as well as the outside. She went up one side, then tried the other side, then tried the first side again. With many tears and gagging, she was finally successful on the other side at the end. Then she made me swallow sips of salt water, which was not awesome on a queasy stomach. I did survive it. I rewarded myself with a strawberry milkshake and chicken soup to soothe my stomach.

The trek back to Tally was full of adventure. The weather was terrible and at one point, we could not see in front of us. Thank you to both my brother Matthew and family friend George and Marianne who safely delivered me home to a house without power. I washed all of the Mayo germs off of me and curled up to go to bed for the evening.

The entire week I struggled with fatigue but survived! I have probably slept more in the past 10 ten days then I have for the past 10 months. Apparently, this was the universe's way to make me sleep. I have given in. After two long days of work Thursday and Friday, I was sound asleep by 7 pm on Friday night. Everyone knows that means we are in an upside world!

For today . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO
