Time is flying by . . .

It has been a while since I blogged.  In the words of a great friend, I am using the blog as a diversion project from the work I need to be completing.

I want to begin this blog by saying that the world lost an amazing human being today.  Steve Jobs revolutionized the technological world.  He is an inspiration to follow your dreams and be passionate about your work.  “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life,” Jobs said. “Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”- Steve Jobs

Check out a tribute video.

In my life, I feel like the energizer bunny - I keep going, and going, and going.  School is great.  I just got my first paper back today and got a 98%!  The comments from my instructor made me feel great.  Two reports due this weekend and I am ever hopeful I will rock them.

Two weeks ago I was in D.C.  It was a great trip for so many reasons.  First, I wasn't sure if I was going to make it there - my flight got cancelled.  I have never had that happen before.  But Delta made everything better and I made it to my meeting with 10 minutes to spare.  Second, I rode in my first cab all by myself and it did not end like a horror movie.  For those of you who know me well, you know I am fearful of homicidal cabbies - too many crime shows!  Third, all of my presentations went well.  I am so fortunate to have the career that I am building.  I get to do things that the typical person does not and I love every minute of it.  Finally, I rode the Metro.  It was an adventure getting there.  I then had some person offer to give me their Metro card in exchange for cash - fortunately that worked out well.  I then rode two lines and made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare - although it was questionable for while.  All in all, it was a great trip.  I got to hang out with fabulous people and ate yummy food.  I even think that I may have seen a few professional working women - who knows, it was D.C.!

Well, back to grading so my students are happy.  On that note for a minute, I do want to share that I am enjoying have a diversity of students this term.  I have 29 students at one community college, 13 at another community college, and 25 university students.  Each group of students brings a different set of experiences and backgrounds to the programs.  Teaching each class reinforces my commitment to education.  I truly feel this is my calling and am blessed that I get to share my passion with future educators!  Every day I wake up and I am afforded the opportunity to follow my heart and intuition!

For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO
