Here is my horoscope for today:
"Life may treat you strangely today, but you need to make sure that you're still staying optimistic -- your mood determines the final outcome of the day's events. Your energy is better than you think!"
For those who know me, know that I only read these at night. I wish I had read it this morning and called in sick! As I was headed to lunch, I took a right at the stop sign and 500 feet later, I was broken down on the side of the road after my car made a hideous sound. The tire came off of the axle! I was only going 15 mph so I was very lucky but it was very scary, especially since I had just finished a 600 mile round trip this weekend on I-95 and I-10. Needless to say, I needed a new CV Axle and they had to repair other parts. My new bumper - not so new anymore. There is a good amount of body damage (pictures will come later) but it is now drivable and the wheel/axle is fixed. I should have waited on fixing the bumper - what a waste of $415 dollars. I am now very paranoid about every sound the car makes but I plan to go have it checked out real soon - after I travel all the rest of the week!
On a sadder note, today marks the 8th year anniversary of losing one of the most special people in my life - my Nana. She was taken away from us unexpectedly. I think of her everyday but always especially today. I feel that she is always looking out for me (like today with the car) and guiding me gently into making the most of my life. She taught me to never be scared to take risks - everything will always work out the way they are suppose to work. She also taught me that no matter what, it is important to have unconditional love and support. Even with her gone, I know that she is supporting me and all my new adventures! As an ode to Nana, here is a clay sculpture that she was working on:
For tonight . . . I'm just sayin'
XOXO
and
Nana, I miss you every day!
