Quarterly Mayo Update

Mom and I spent the better part of today at Mayo for my quarterly update. It was worth it because I got another great report. The cancer remains stable so we are clear for another three months. I have also gained weight. Overall, I am feeling so much better than I was a year ago. In fact, this is probably the best I have felt in the past four or five years. I still get tired but that is a combination of my body fighting the cancer and my adrenal glands not behaving properly. My cough is back when I exert myself but the good news is that I have enough energy to exert myself.

I have cooked dinner twice - actually cut up vegetables and backed dinner in the oven, not just heating food up in the microwave. I have been able to cut vegetables for salads. I just take my time and take breaks.

I finished my magazine project at home...this included going through all of my magazines to determine what was going to recycle and what was going on the bookshelves.

It started with all of these...

....these all went to recycle.

The magazine project took a few months but I chipped at a few stacks at a time and got it done. I also was able to go through all of my bathroom boxes and purged old items and sorted the keepers. It felt good to get these projects done. A year ago, I would not have been able to do anything of this. I was barely surviving giving all my energy to work without much left over. My doctor today was so excited to see my progress....it is amazing with a little prednisone with do to get the functioning again.

In other news, the duck attached mom again. Mom was weeding the flower beds (while I was cooking dinner) and all of a sudden I heard a lot of commotion at my front door. I was afraid she had gotten into an ant bed or something. Turns out, she was on the ground and turned around when she heard a noise and was face-to-face with the duck. Then she stood up, took a step back, and he came towards her. She went to the front door and he followed. He is so aggressive. She was safe and sound inside.

What a week.....

For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO
