Pancake Update

According to the vet, Pancake's heart murmur has not progressed. He says her heart is doing well. He thinks her lethargic sleeping is related to her gaining weight. In the last six months, she has put on some weight, which is odd to me. I am not 100% on board with this diagnosis so I will keep watching her closely. While she is awake, she is completely normal. When she sleeps, she is out (much like me). The vet wants me to start feeding them twice a day and end the grazing. Well, I am not on board with that but I have reduced the amount of food that is available to the cats all the time. Flap isn't happy about this but he is adjusting. We will have her heart checked out next year (appointment already on the calendar). Until then, lots of cuddle time:

The 4th Holiday was full of fireworks, beginning on Friday the 1st and up until almost midnight on the 4th. During the height of the "show" that at least eight of my neighbors were putting on, I went on the porch to see what was causing the large bangs next door. I hear the ducks quacking and when I turned on my flashlight, I found the three ducks right outside my porch. The poor things didn't know where to go so they hunkered down outside my porch because I was not blowing anything up. I felt bad for them, as I do for all animals and people with PTSD during these holidays with fireworks.

For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO
