I feel that this blog is turning into a commentary on the American customer service landscape rather than my journey with Mesothelioma and Adrenal Gland Insufficiency.
With the plumber telling me he had to have the job done before Monday morning, I really thought the Restoration crew was coming Monday morning (without notice, like the plumber). We (me, my mom, and my two friends) moved stuff around in the garage, built three shelves to help me store stuff since this house has zero storage, and swept the floor because the drywaller and homeowners left the garage a mess!
Cleanest this garage probably has ever been in the past 17 years!
I woke up early today so I would be ready just in case...at 4 PM I called the company to see what the plan was because I was tired of not knowing. I have been asking since March 24.
A women answered the phone, she looked up my account and told me they would be here Wednesday between 8:30 and 9:30 AM. I said, great another day off ruined. I asked if there was another day they could come. She paused and said she could ask the person in charge of the contents team but she didn't know. I told her, "Never mind, I just want this project done." I then asked here for the name of the person who owned the company or ran the company. She told me I could talk to the women in charge of the contents part of the project. I explained that I wanted the name of the person who owned the company or who ran the company. She told me to hold on. She came back and said she could give me an email. I said OK and she started "admin@..." I told her no, I want the name of the person who owned the company or who runs the company, the big boss." She put me on hold again. Then the contents person came on the phone. I told her that I wasn't sure why I was transferred to her. While I wasn't happy with Wednesday because it was the fourth day off the company ruined, I wanted the project behind me so it was fine. Then I told her that I wanted the name of the person who owned the company or ran the company. She explained that he owns three franchises so email would be best. She gave me his direct email and I said thank you. Did she not understand my question? Was she trying to protect the owner from me? Was she trying to protect her co-workers? Who knows but I am tired of it. I feel like I now have a full time job helping other companies run their business. I feel that it is disrespectful to assume I will be sitting her 24-7 awake for workers to come and go as it fits their schedule. I cannot wait for this to be in the rear view mirror.
Hopefully, the rain will not impact this project or ruin more of my things. 58% chance of rain. When I asked the contents person what happens if it rains, she explained to me that in Florida it rains all the time and most of the time it only lasts for five minutes. She said that if it doesn't look like it will pass then they will reschedule.
I hope that I can post on Wednesday evening that my stuff has been moved back into the garage and the Pod is gone. I remain ever hopeful!
For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO

Did the problem get fixed? Hugs!
