After the last bad experience, I decided to reach out to the oncologist I met with when I was hospitalized in September. Unfortunately, she did not have any appointments until January but they recommended a second doctor. Then they called with a change to a third doctor. I was a bit concerned but the admin person assured me that I would like this doctor and they understood what I was looking for in a local doctor.
Yesterday, I met with with the oncologist. He was great. He was detailed but not judgmental. He asked questions but did not question my decisions. He understood what I was looking for in a local doctor and respected what I needed. He is going to meet with me ten days outside of chemo to see where my blood levels are at and see how I am feeling. My only issue now is that I cannot find the portal for their office so I cannot find out where my blood levels are at today. I will call tomorrow and find out. It is insane how many medical portals I have. My dream one day is that the patient has a portal and then we give doctor's access to it to add information. We should be in control!
In other news, yesterday was my last Board Meeting as President for NARA. It is hard to believe five and half years has gone by. For those of you who have been there through the journey, you understand that this has has been a journey. Along the way, there have been lots of twists and unexpected turns. In that fashion, it was shared at yesterday's meeting that they had ordered me a plaque in appreciation. However, the store they ordered it from closed and never notified them. The ED happened to drive by the store and saw it empty. Back to the drawing board.....I found this to be so funny and fitting ending.
Everyone trying to stay warm.....

In the future let's ne sure to not belong or take on a leadership position in identical professional organizations.....we seem to be "hexed".
