So do you ever expect to hear someone say they went to the doctor's office and saw a chicken running around the front of the building? Welcome to the country! I also saw a man wearing a Census 2010 shirt riding a tractor - the things we see!
A very busy weekend but I got everything done that was on my list . . . that is a first in a long time. More repairs for the Honda - new rims and tires! Will the damage from the axle ever go away? The most wonderful mechanic in the whole wide world will call me this week to let me know how much this will cost and when I can get this done.
I saw several friends who I had not seen in a long time - while I love being in the country, I do miss seeing my friends on a regular basis. I saw my mom and uncles as well as my brother. He has now moved next door to an old apartment - it brought back many memories. My brother's dorm and school should be a fun experience for him and I hope he does well.
After visiting my uncle on Sunday, I drove home in some of the worst rain I have ever driven in. The roads were flooded and no one could see anything! I took my time and made it!
When I got home, the donkey came charging across the field and braying to say "Hi." It was apparent he missed me while I was gone. He kissed me on my nose - it was so cute how much he let me get near him, normally he stands about a foot away. I unpacked everything, did laundry, graded papers, worked out, read for pleasure (I know what is that), wrote a test, completed my homework, prepared Tuesday's lecture, and read for school. I am going into this week fully prepared.
I had a lot of time to think this weekend, which is always a good thing. I had great playlists on my IPod for the road trip. I did not get to see everyone I wanted to but that just gives me something to look forward to in the future. For those keeping track, I now have all the Shrek toys I was seeking out. I need one more (Shrek) to complete the set. Persistence normally finds success in meeting goals!
I hope that everyone took a moment to remember our fallen soldiers and keep those who are fighting right now in our thoughts.
For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO
