So living in a house brings about some new challenges that apartment living does not. For example, trash. I miss having a dumpster right around the corner from my house accessible 24 hours a day. Although, I am fortunate that the central trash collection is about 1 mile from house. The people are really nice there and it is easy to navigate. But sometimes, you just want the trash out of the house and do not want to wait for them to open. I now have to be more thoughtful when I fill the garbage can so I can get it out timely!
The other adventure I had this week was the ice maker on the refrigerator. Apparently, it sprang a leak. In typical Tara fashion, this was an interesting discovery. It was about 1:30 AM and I heard a noise. It sounded like water but I did not see any water on the floor. Since I had just emptied the boxes in the dining room and kitchen, so my first thought was it is just a loud refrigerator. By 2 AM, the noise appeared louder. Again, I went to explore and didn't see anything. By 2:15 AM, I am realizing that this isn't just a loud refrigerator but that there was water behind the refrigerator. I tried to move the refrigerator but that was not happening. So, what do you do at 2:15 AM - who do you call? My answer was . . . . nobody. I realized that the wall had a panel so I got out my screwdriver and opened the panel. I managed to turn the valve to the off position with a little elbow grease and temporary solved the problem - most importantly the gushing water stopped!!!!! I used my good problem solving skills and resolved the issue before it was out of control.
Today I received my sofa. I just need to figure out where everything is going to go in the living room but I think it will be nice to lay out in a bigger space than my recliner. I will upload pictures this weekend!
I have to also admit that I love feeding the goats and donkey - they are so sweet and we look forward to seeing each other each day. They are all so cute.
For tonight . . . I'm just sayin'
XOXO
