Another good Mayo visit. I am cleared for another three months. The cancer has not grown any, which makes us all very happy! I gained more weight, which I now think may be more the prednisone then my eating because I have not changed my habits in ten months but I am gaining weight consistently, which is a side effect of prednisone. I have an appointment with endocrinology in a month so we will chat about that. I have been coughing more than I had been and get short of breath pretty quick. I am not sure if that is because I am doing more or if it is getting worse. The CT scans show a new nodule on the lung but we are not sure what it is. Out of precaution, my doctor suggested I get a COVID test. It was negative. My doctor wants me to go back to pulmonology to see if these symptoms are related to my other lung issues. Never a dull moment!
This is the hallway at Mayo when I finally realized that I could no longer walk the building. I made it halfway down the corridor and could not breathe. I sat on a bench and thought I had caught by breathe but when I got to the lab, the person checking me told me to sit down and she would get someone to wheel me out when I was done because my breathing was so labored.
Mom and I both survived Hurricane Ian. Mom and I both lost power but neither of us had any damage. We feel very blessed and lucky.
On the home front, we are making a lot of progress. My mom walked in the other day and said it was the first time it felt like she was walking into a home since I moved back her. We have all the books that we could find unpack, I think there are a few more boxes of books in the garage. The furniture has been figured out in all of the rooms. The cats are settling in...maybe a little too much.
