Three Month Update

Last week's trip to Mayo was a one day there and back. With our first appointment at noon and omicron so rampant, we decided this was the best option to reduce our exposure. I wore my new bracelets from Christmas for good luck...this is the first time in months that I had the energy to think about and put on bracelets. That last few trips, I had them in my purse but did not have the energy to put them on.

It says, "The ones that love us never really leave us"

I ordered N95 masks for mom and I. I survived 10-15 minutes and then I had to switch to a surgical mask. I absolutely could not breath in the N95 sitting in wheelchair. Mom was a trooper and lasted all day.

I had my CT scans and blood work. The nurse in CT was amazing, she made sure I made my next appointment on time and was empathetic to how difficult it is for me to drink all of the barium solution. She had a good solution that I plan to ask for moving forward.

I met with both doctors (palliative care and oncology). Both were very happy to see me doing so well. My color is back, I gained four pounds, and was more responsive then when they saw me in the Fall. While my oncologist was wearing a mask, it was clear he was smiling ear to ear. He continues to be proud of how hard I am fighting, the fact I am still working, and how I am adapting to the impacts of this disease. He said to me, "I'm beating the hell out of this cancer." Scans showed the cancer is stable and no new growth. I will go back in 90 days. The immunotherapy still seems to be working.

To celebrate, we picked up cookies from a new cookie bake shop.

When I returned home, the cats were ready to snuggle. The traveling went well and I used the long weekend to do a lot of resting. Who knew how important naps were?!? Apparently, the cats!

For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO
