Another Tara Moment

I have been meaning to share this classic Tara story for a few weeks.

So, when I moved to the new house I noticed the water was luke warm at best. I just figured it was the house. I kept turning up the heat but it didn't seem to work.

Finally, one night we were completely out of hot water. I called my management company and they sent out a plumber. He was here less than 3 minutes...the gas had been turned off and the box was locked.

I couldn't figure out why. I have paid all my bills....well, at least I thought I had. I called the City who does my utilities for water, sewer, and trash but apparently not gas. Who knew?

When I called them in October I very specifically said I needed water and gas. I knew electric was with another company. They didn't say a word about gas.

I turned in all my account numbers to my management company to show I had all the utilities put in my name. They didn't say a word about gas.

Well, just to be clear, gas is done by a different company. I call them up, after calling the city to share my thoughts about how they could be more customer friendly and helpful. I am sure they appreciated my advice.

The man at the gas company tried to find my house in their system. It was not under the current house owners name. I could only remember the previous owners first name and last initial. He eventually found it under their name. The new owners never turned on the gas (and neither did I). The previous owners had the account turned off and no note was left on the door. Unfortunately, turning on gas takes two days. They do not have a cancellation list. Nor do they take extra money to move you up.

The gas was turned on but I still didn't have hot water. The pilot light would not stay lit. The plumber came back out two days after the gas got turned on.

I still do not have hot water in the shower but the rest of the house is scolding hot...hopeful I will have a hot shower in 2022.

For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO
