Thanksgiving 2021....So Much Gratitude in My Heart!

With the world still so challenging, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on all the things I am thankful for right now, while I am not going to call out it person by name, each of you is close to my heart.

First and foremost, my mom. We have certainly been through a lot in our short 46 years together but through the highs and lows, we always find a way to laugh. I am thankful she has had the ability to work from home so she could be with me through difficult times. I appreciate her guidance and support every day.

My family who is always by my side to provide advice, help, and support. I also am thankful for all of the laughs and stories we share. It is nice to be part of a family who shows up for the good times and the not so good times. For those family members who have passed, I feel their presence in my life every day and know they are watching over me and helping me through everything positive and negative.

My friends who are always there to support me by providing hours of conversations, unpacking boxes, providing food, sending me pictures of little ones, scooping litter boxes, and other random things that have made life a little easier. You never know who you will meet and who will have an impact on your life. Through my adventures, I have been so blessed to be surrounded with amazing individuals.

My professional life which inspires me every day. I am part of the 1% (not that one 1%) who gets to do something they love everyday. As a social justice advocate, I hope to change the world for the good and my work allows me to pursue this goal every day. My work and volunteer activities are so rewarding because I know that children and adults are positively impacted. I am also given the opportunity to work with great professionals who are supporting vulnerable adults and children. It doesn't get much better than that.

My medical professionals are top notch. My main doctors (oncology, palliative care, and mental health) are supportive and truly care about saving my life. They are not afraid to challenge me nor listen to me. It is nice to have doctors who see us as a team in this fight. I am thankful for my supporting doctors as well. Outside of my medical team, I am thankful for those who are working so hard to minimize COVID-19 so we can return to normal life activities.

Last but certainly not least are my cats, who give me unconditional love and lots of laughs.

Thanksgiving morning watching the parade!

It is true when they say it takes a village, especially to support me. My village is the best in world. I am so thankful for everyone who is on this journey with me.

For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO
