I am doing well but the new treatment has definitely hit me harder than I thought it would. This treatment will be tough but that has to mean it is working.
For the past two weeks, I have been very fatigued so if it takes me a little longer to respond, I am probably sleeping. I was dizzy for the first four days, which was the worst but that passed. Now I am just light headed so when I walk I just go slow. I did a purchase a cane to help when I feel very unstable. This treatment made me get sick. Additionally, my cough has also caused that.
I met with the new palliative care doctor on my team. He is fabulous. While he can medicate just about any of my issues, he understands I do not want to be on a lot of meds. We talked through each side effect and how it is impacting me. He had lots of good suggestions. We will meet again in six weeks but he let me know that if I have rough days or just need someone to talk to outside of my personal support network, I could reach out to him.
Meanwhile back at home, all of my cats have decided since my family has moved in that they do not have to follow my rules and are getting very brave, even the perfect one Marmalade:
Once I said, "No," she got down immediately. Apparently, she is assimilating well.
Today, I got my results from my bloodwork. Everything was within the chemo acceptable level, except my potassium level. I am eating my iron- and potassium-rich foods!
For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO

Tara, Thanks for checking in! Good to hear you are getting good support from your new team doctor and his encouraging support! Not sure what to think of your furry friends behaviors. Sounds like Marmalade is responding well to your voice commands. The other two (I am sure) are following her lead and responding well. Right? ;-). Love, You! G and M
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and checking in...hope all continues to go well! You are an amazing and a patient patient :)
