On my home tonight I got a call from my landlord. One of the neighbors called her to tell her the goat was in the front yard and the donkey was having a fit trying to get to him. I was about a mile from home and told her I would call her back. I was on the phone with a close friend when I arrived home. I didn't see the goat but decided to park outside the fence, just in case he really was out. As I walked towards the house, I saw his head pop out from behind the garage. I walked around the other side in hopes I could get to the back gate before he did. I didn't. He walked up to me so I slowly started walking towards the back gate. At that point, he started to butt at me. That was a little scary. I threw my keys to the ground and kept walking. Then he was butting a little more and got up on his hinds legs, which was really scary. But I just kept going towards the gate. I got it open, grabbed his horns and walked him, quickly got out and then locked the gate. Once the goat was back in the gate, the donkey went after him - he showed him who was boss. I walked the fence perimeter and saw no openings so I think he might have jumped the fence, I am not sure. With the exception of getting butted in the jaw, which still hurts - I escaped this adventure without harm and probably a little braver!
Everyone needs to send good thoughts that the goat will not escape anymore - I do not want to go through this again. Country living is certainly bringing me adventures I never thought would be in my life!
For tonight . . . I'm just sayin' XOXO
