Yesterday was Downhome Days, which is the local spring festival. I must be getting countrified because I now get up on the early side. The first order of business for the day was working the registration table for the NFCC 5K Run - the weather was beautiful! When we arrived at 7AM, we were surprised by the sight of an elephant at our location - yes, I said elephant! It was there as part of the festivities. We had 52 runners who all did a great job. From the run, we were off to the parade - our actors rode the float that four of us built. The entire town came out to support the parade participants. After the parade, we went and collected all of the signs from race, dropped off all of the tables and materials, went to play practice and then headed to Valdosta to get the rest of the materials for the play. Being gone from 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM made for a long day but it was a lot of fun and I felt very involved in my community!
For tonight . . . I'm just sayin'
XOXO
